"Notice regarding the suspension of Ukiyo-e Cafe operations" (Added June 22, 2020)
The Ukiyo-e Cafe has been temporarily closed for the time being to prevent the spread of COVID-19, but we have decided to cancel it this year in consideration of the health and safety of audiences and performers. Since opening in August 2019, many people from Japan and abroad have enjoyed watching the stage while eating and drinking. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the audience members who have visited the Ukiyo-e Cafe so far. It has not yet been decided whether the cafe will reopen next year or beyond. On Thursday, August 8, 2019, the "Ukiyo-e Cafe" opened in Yokohama. The stage is dedicated to the globally popular ukiyo-e, and features "Ukiyo-e Entertainment" that makes use of dance, realistic costumes, projection mapping, and more. It is a show that children, adults, and people from overseas can casually enjoy while enjoying tea and a meal. Why not experience the fantastical world of ukiyo-e that no one has ever seen before?
The venue is inside Eiichibankan on the 6th floor of the Kanagawa Prefectural Hall. As it is called a harbor view restaurant, you can see the whole of Yokohama Port from the large windows.
There is a lineup of soft drinks starting at 500 yen and alcoholic drinks starting at 600 yen. There is also a full food menu, from light snacks to Shokado bento. Since it was originally a restaurant, the food is guaranteed to be delicious!
Before the show started, there was a mysterious figure... Performers and staff were going around the venue taking photos of the audience. What on earth was going to happen... That's for you to enjoy at the venue.
Before the main show, they warmed up with talk and magic. The audience got involved and the atmosphere in the venue gradually became more lively. They spoke to the guests in both Japanese and English, so the guests from overseas seemed to enjoy themselves. The atmosphere was stylish, like a theater restaurant in Las Vegas.
And finally the show begins! The performers are the performance group "Shiro A", who have performed in 30 countries around the world. They are top-class entertainers who were the first Asians to win the Golden Buzzer Award on the popular American audition program "America's Got Talent".
The stage, which combines digital video, techno sound, and dance performance, is unique and cool!

Representative Sato Ryosuke established Shiro A in 2002. Drawing on his experience performing all over the world, he will deliver a new show suited to Kanagawa. "This is the first time we've had a show in a normal restaurant, but the size of the venue allows you to get up close to the stage, so it's the perfect space for us. We hope people from all over Japan and the world will come to Kanagawa to see our 'Ukiyo-e Entertainment.'"
