In order to accelerate the resumption of cultural and artistic activities that have been suspended to prevent the spread of COVID-19, Kanagawa Prefecture is accepting applications for projects that will establish cultural and artistic activities under the "new lifestyle" that includes infection prevention measures, and will provide subsidies after screening and selection. In addition to events that have been popular in each region, we are also actively accepting highly innovative projects that use unprecedented ideas and means of expression, so please apply.
* "Magcul": The prefecture is promoting the initiative of Magnet Culture, or "Magcul" for short, to attract people with the appeal of culture and the arts and create excitement in the local area.
Subsidies of up to 1.5 million yen for infectious disease prevention measures for cultural and artistic activities
We aim to accelerate the resumption of cultural and artistic activities by providing subsidies of up to 1.5 million yen for cultural and artistic events held under the "new lifestyle" that takes measures against COVID-19.
[Application period] From Monday, July 20th to Friday, August 7th, 2020
*Subsidized businesses and grant amounts will be determined after screening and selection based on application documents.
[Target area] Cultural and artistic activities in general
[Applicant] An organization or individual business that has a track record of conducting cultural and artistic activities open to an unspecified number of people within the prefecture between January 1, 2019 and February 25, 2020.
[Target projects] Cultural and artistic activities that take measures to prevent infectious diseases and are carried out within the prefecture between the grant decision date (scheduled for September 16, 2020) and February 28, 2021.
[Eligible expenses] Expenses required to prevent the spread of COVID-19 (video streaming costs, new costs required to avoid crowding on stage, PCR testing costs, disinfection costs and other consumables costs, part of the rental fee for using a large venue to ensure distance between audience members, etc.)
