[Zushi/Hayama] Take the Keikyu Line! Lunch and art tour

【逗子・葉山】京急で行く!ランチ&芸術めぐり

Keikyu Railway connects Tokyo with Haneda Airport, as well as Kawasaki, Yokohama, and the Miura Peninsula. This time, we'll be taking a stroll around Zushi and Hayama using the "Hayama Girls' Trip Ticket," which is currently on sale with Keikyu. We'll be introducing some eye-catching cafe lunches and nearby art spots.

Relax on a unique train journey

The "Hayama Girls' Trip Ticket" is a great value one-day ticket that includes a round-trip ticket on the Keikyu Line, a free pass on the Keikyu Bus, a "selectable meal ticket" and a "selectable reward ticket." Although it's called a "girls' trip," it's not limited to women and can be purchased and used by anyone. You can enjoy a relaxing day trip to Zushi and Hayama, rocking along on the train and feeling like you're at a resort.

Once you get off the train, we recommend using your "Selectable Meal Ticket" for lunch.
There are many local dishes on the menu, including Japanese, Western, and Chinese cuisine, so you might be overwhelmed by the wide variety. For example, Seedling Kitchen Zushi, a six-minute walk from Zushi Station, is a small cafe restaurant that serves dishes made with plenty of local vegetables. It has a reputation for serving healthy meals that are good for your body.

This sign marks the store, and it is imbued with the idea of growing like a seedling. The Seedling Set, which can be ordered with the "Hayama Girls' Trip Ticket," includes a main dish, a side dish, brown rice with black rice, and vegetable salt koji soup. The popular "Hata no Wappa" (Field Wappa) can also be selected as one of the main dishes.

Owner Kanae Takahashi values the appearance of the food.
Takahashi believes that if customers are excited when they first encounter the food, the meal will be more enjoyable, and if the food they eat is delicious, it may lead them to wonder, "Where are these vegetables from?" and "Where are they sold?" and become interested in the farmers who supply them.

The vegetables that add color to the dishes are sourced from the Miura Peninsula and Kamakura.
We source our produce from trusted farmers, such as SHO Farm, which grows crops without pesticides or chemical fertilizers, and HOSOYA FARM, which produces colorful vegetables, after seeing the seedlings and talking to them at the morning market.

Takahashi said, "The colorfulness that is the concept of Seedling Kitchen would not be possible without the vegetables from our farmers. We have young, adventurous farmers, and when we tell them what vegetables we want to use, they respond flexibly and say, "We'll try making it!" even if they've never grown it before, which is really helpful. We would like to continue to maintain close ties with our farmers."

Takahashi says, "The word 'delicious' is the best reward." Seedling Kitchen hopes to be a bridge that connects people with vegetables, and you can enjoy the food with both your eyes and your tongue, making for a truly special experience.
