Experience the career of the legendary diva Akina Nakamori at the planetarium!
"Akina Nakamori The Stage Planetarium -LED ver." will be screened at Konica Minolta Planetarium Yokohama in Minato Mirai until Sunday, April 5, 2026.
This special program upconverts footage from music shows such as "Let's Go Young" and "Kohaku Uta Gassen," which were broadcast on NHK in the 1980s, to 4K high definition, and then displays it with the high brightness and wide color gamut of an LED dome system.
When I heard it was Akina Nakamori, as someone from my generation who can sing almost all of her songs from her debut onwards, I thought "I have to go!" and went to the first day (February 27th).
It's already fun and delicious from the lobby!

First, quench your thirst with Mi Amore, a collaboration drink from Cafe Planetaria in the lobby.
This gorgeous drink is made with cranberry soda topped with two purple edible flowers and even a sprinkling of gold powder. The taste has an exquisite balance of sweet and sour, so even those who don't like sweet or sour drinks will enjoy it.
Suddenly, I was reminded of Akina, who is considerate of the hosts and co-stars on music programs.
It also comes with an original coaster, making it a great souvenir.
By the way, you can bring drinks and food purchased at this cafe into the planetarium dome.

There is also a special merchandise corner where bromides and acrylic stands are on sale. The full-body acrylic stand in particular has a nostalgic costume! What's more, it's sold out online, so it seems to be available only at the venue. If you want a mini Akina, be sure to hurry.
Fun before the main story

Upon entering, you will be given an original souvenir sticker. She is wearing the costume from "Nanpasen," one of Akina's signature songs. This sad expression is so Akina.
This gift was not available at the previous screenings in Tokyo, Fukuoka, and Kobe, so those who can go to Yokohama (where the film will also be screened in Nagoya) are lucky.

For a short while before the main program begins, you can watch the stars twinkle and slowly change position. As you'd expect from an LED dome system, the brightness is beyond beautiful. There are no star projections during the main program of the special program, so you get the feeling you've also gotten a great experience at the planetarium. The seats are also reclining and comfortable. Photography is allowed during this part.
Finally, the main story begins! The innocent Akina is there
As you enjoy the beautiful starry sky, the lights suddenly go out and the main event begins.
First, there's a comment from Akina Nakamori herself. Her unique, breathless way of speaking will make any fangirl think, "That's her!"
Then the sound of insects can be heard in the starry sky, and her birthday, "July 13, 1965," is displayed on the screen.
In fact, the starry sky in the photo is the starry sky of Star's birthday. It is the starry sky of the day "Star" was born.

This program is structured as Chapters 1 to 4, tracing the career of diva Akina Nakamori.
Chapter 1 begins. Of course, the first song is the debut song.
There she was, dressed in a white dress, the newcomer Akina Nakamori. Because of the TV angle, you can see her facial expressions clearly. You can almost feel the tension.
What's even more surprising is the sound. It's incredibly realistic. You can even hear the voices of the guards, and it reminded me of how envious I was watching the concert on TV back then, envious of the fans who were actually there.
Along with the footage of the singer, the surrounding footage and performances also help you immerse yourself in the world of the song.
Memories evoked in each era

The story continues with Chapter 2: Dancing Stars, Chapter 3: Margins of Light, and Chapter 4: Shining Light.
Although I want to give you all the details, I would like you to resist the urge to do so and instead go and see for yourself what songs will be played, how they will be played, and what kind of Akina you will be able to see.
One thing I can say is that sound is easily linked to memories. In fact, it brought back memories of my own, like, "This is what it felt like when this song was playing." I'm sure that each person who watches it will evoke different emotions.
And what's particularly noteworthy is the full 360° projection that only a dome-shaped venue can offer. It's not just a beautifully projected TV image, but also links to the sets and lyrics of the time, creating a nostalgic yet new form of entertainment.
Akina Nakamori now, Akina Nakamori in the future
At the end, as a special content, there is also footage of a live performance at Cotton Club held on his birthday in 2025.
The jazzy arrangements make her look mature in both name and reality, but she says she still gets nervous no matter how much experience she has had, and I felt somehow relieved to see her fingers trembling, just as they always have.
The 40 minutes flew by, and I wish I could have listened longer, but perhaps it was just right to feel a little unsatisfied. Even after I left the venue, Akina's songs were ringing in my head, and I was left immersed in the long, lingering afterglow.
Whether you're from the generation that grew up with Akina Nakamori or from a generation that doesn't remember that time, why not go and enjoy the unique diva Akina Nakamori?
