Yokosuka Museum of Art
The museum is surrounded by mountains on three sides and has an attractive open environment with grassy areas on both the ocean and mountain sides. Outdoor movie screenings are also held every year at the "Umi no Hiroba" in front of the main entrance. The restaurant facing the square also has terrace seating. In addition to exhibits, there are plenty of places to relax and enjoy yourself, such as the library and the rooftop with free binoculars.
The interior of the building is covered with glass, and there are holes in the interior walls in places, allowing it to be bathed in soft natural light. At the collection exhibition held four times a year, we display modern and contemporary Japanese art as well as works by artists connected to Yokosuka. Ahead of the 10th anniversary of the museum's opening in 2017, we are currently holding a popularity poll for the collection items until December 11th.

Kaneyo Shokudo, located at the edge of Hashirimizu Beach on the way from Umahori Kaigan Station to the Yokosuka Museum of Art, has become a social hub for the local community, where men and women of all ages gather, from families visiting the beach to young people to the elderly. I am. Kaneyo Shokudo is a cafe and art studio run by dismantling and reconstructing a building that was originally a fisherman's hut. Mr. John, also known as Toshi Kanazawa, who grew up in the local area and whose father was a fisherman, uses fish caught by free diving from the sea. Happiness can also be on the menu. It is said that Tachibana Hime-no-Mikoto, his younger brother, sacrificed himself to calm the anger of the sea god and protect Nihon Takeru when the sea was rough when he was crossing from the Miura Peninsula to the Boso Peninsula by boat with Nihon Takeru.

Uraga ferry
The ``Uraga Ferry'', which can be boarded from Senba, which is about a 5-minute bus ride from Keikyu Uraga Station, is affectionately known as the Pon Pom Boat and has been a symbol of Uraga for nearly 300 years. In this port, where the bay extends approximately 1.5 kilometers, ferryboats are an important means of transportation for people traveling between the east and west coasts. The route has been designated as a waterway city road (Route 2073), which is rare in Japan, and has been named ``Uraga Kaido.''
There is no timetable, but when the ferry is on the opposite shore, you can press the call button and the Atago Maru, which is designed to look like a red barge, will arrive right away. The boat ride time is only about 3 minutes, but if you are not in a hurry, the boat may be parked at sea for a while. You can see the cranes and docks built on the site of the Uraga Shipyard from the sea.
Kano Shrine, located on the east and west sides of the Uraga Kaido, is said to be a power spot where your wishes will come true if you visit.

Mikasa Park
Mikasa Park is where the Mikasa, one of the world's three largest commemorative ships that served in the Russo-Japanese War, is preserved. The theme is "water, light, and sound," and there is a musical fountain that can be enjoyed even after dark. The children cheered loudly as the colorful fountains danced to the beat of classical and pop music. The performance lasts approximately 15 minutes. At the "wall fountain" in the back, a mural emerges from the falling water.
