I went to the "Koganecho Bazaar 2013".

「黄金町バザール2013」に行ってきました。

Hello everyone! I went to Kogane-cho in Naka Ward.
Now in Koganecho, the art festival "Koganecho Bazaar 2013" is in session, and artists' works and studios are scattered throughout the town.

The street was full of lovely atmosphere.

Koganecho Art Book Bazaar

Koganecho Art Book Bazaar

We sell second-hand books, mainly art books, as well as accessories made by artists.
It's worth even just taking a quick look at foreign books with beautiful covers and old art magazines!

Art Exhibition

Under the overpass, on the walls, in studios... You can find works by artists from Japan and abroad all over the city.

Anyone with a passport (sold for 700 yen for high school students and above) can view it.

Work on the left: Midori Terashima's "A WHOLE NEW WORLD"
It is filled with various colors and shapes, and I feel like I have come to a mysterious world.
Work on the right: Kaori Usuda
This work is exhibited in three rooms, each with a different story.
The piece in the photo is displayed in the third room. It has a pale, transparent feel overall.

Hatsukoji Shopping Association Antenna Shop + Chiendo

Items from the local shopping association, Hatsukohi Shopping Association, as well as works by other artists are on sale.
There is also a public relations corner next door where you can get information about local urban development.

Other attractions include the Koganecho Art School, where you can learn pottery and watercolor painting, and the One Day Bazaar, which is held on the second Sunday of every month.

There are lots of fun events.

This bazaar was originally started to revitalize an area that was once lined with specialty restaurants.
In fact, even though I am just a junior high school student, as a local resident I am participating in the Koganecho Bazaar as a supporter.
The staff and shop owners there were overflowing with enthusiasm to "change the town!"
Now in its sixth year, the townscape has changed dramatically, and it has become a wonderful town where the tradition of the shopping district coexists with the latest in art.

Why not take a stroll along the Ooka River and see this town?
You're sure to make new discoveries and experience an atmosphere that is unique to this city.
