Interview with Takako Shirai

We had the opportunity to interview Takako Shirai, a musician and Kanagawa Environmental Ambassador.
Born in Kanagawa Prefecture, he composed the school song for Yokohama Municipal Kurata Elementary School, "Minna no Pony" commemorating the 40th anniversary of Ebina City's incorporation, and "Makachi Kanikani Ondo," a song based on the theme of "Let's Play with the Earth."
Shirai continues to actively engage in activities closely related to his hometown of Kanagawa.
In the interview, he talked about his expectations for Magcal.
And under the theme of "Peace on Earth," he spoke about his thoughts on nature and the landscapes he wants to preserve.
We had the opportunity to hear a lot about Shirai's honest feelings about Kanagawa.

Debuted in 1981. After the smash hit "CHANCE" in 1984, she was dubbed the "Queen of Rock."
1988-1990: Moved to London.
1993: Wrote and composed the school song for Yokohama Municipal Kurata Elementary School, "I Love Kurata Elementary School."
From 1996, he was a regular on NHK General TV's "Hirudoki Nihon Retto" for three years.
2001: Wrote and composed the new Kanagawa Prefecture choral song "I Want to Be the Wind of My Hometown."
In 2006, to commemorate the 25th anniversary of their debut, the legendary 80's band TAKAKO & The Crazy Boys held a comeback concert.
In 2010, the theme song for the 61st Kanagawa Prefecture National Tree Planting Festival, "Let's Go to the Forest!", was released.
In the spring of 2011, he was in charge of the theme song "SAKURA SAKURA: The Bridge of Happiness" for the movie "TAKAMINE: The Man Who Made Cherry Blossoms Bloom in America."
Appeared at the Shizuoka Prefecture National Tree Planting Festival in the fall.
2012: Director Toru Ichikawa's "Town-Cultivating Cinema" Himi City "Fountain Pen" and Mito City "The Sakuradamon Gate Incident!?"
"HAPPY! Media People" from the Tannan area of Fukui Prefecture and "Go Thunderers" from Takaoka City
He composed the film's music together with guitarist Honda Kiyomi, his bandmate since the 1980s.
The album "HAPPY BLUE NO.1" (15 songs in total), which can be considered the movie's "soundtrack", has been released!
The theme song "Aoi Kage" won the Best Music Award at the 1st Himi Kizuna International Film Festival!
In the summer, the Great East Japan Earthquake, a song to support the recovery effort was released: "Rikuzentakata Matsunohana Ondo," sung together with the children of Rikuzentakata.
(A portion of the proceeds will be used for the Ipponmatsu Fund and the restoration of the pine grove.)
"Makachi Kanikani Ondo" is the theme song for our activities in collaboration with the NPO Tsurumi River Basin Networking.
Spring 2013: Wrote and composed the song "Minna no Mirai" (Everybody's Future) for all the children of Kiyokawa Village, Kanagawa Prefecture (kindergarten through junior high school students). Currently practicing for the school-wide joint recital in the fall.

She made a guest appearance after receiving an offer to become a "diva" and sing the songs written by Kitayama.
