Double Planet
Episode 0: Greetings
Jun Furuta & Yota Kanda (Radio Shonan Personalities)
Nice to meet you. My name is Furuta Jun.
This time, let me introduce myself in preparation for the new series that will start next month.
First of all, who exactly are we?
I usually run a theater company and work as a scriptwriter and director.
And by chance, I have been given the opportunity to work as a radio personality with musician Yota Kanda (Bluestone) on a radio station in Kanagawa Prefecture.
The program in question is "Love & Music," a music variety show broadcast every Saturday from 5 p.m. on Fujisawa City's community FM station, Radio Shonan FM 83.1.
This year marks the 16th year since the program began.
That's right, thanks to you it's a fairly long-running program.
The chemical reaction between the sensibilities of Kanda Yota and Furuta Jun has led to the program being a place where these two forward-thinking people create something from nothing, resulting in the creation of many radio-originated "music pieces" and "radio dramas."
To mark the 20th anniversary of Radio Shonan's launch, they launched the Shonan Sound Connection (SSC), an event to enliven Shonan through connections between music, the region, and people. Bluestone teamed up with Radio Shonan, which continues to broadcast from the heart of Shonan, and Bluestone held Vol. 0 in November 2016.
After the inaugural performance, which ended in great success, SSC has involved many artists and has grown into an increasingly larger event with each passing year.
Kanda is the vocalist for the Radio Shonan Band, which he formed with station personality Kyoko Tomita (formerly of Princess Princess) and Hideyuki Kadono (TUBE). Furuta was in charge of the script and direction for Vol.3 and Vol.EX.
The event is currently running up to Vol.5 and is still ongoing.
On the other hand, people from a variety of genres have appeared as guests on our show.
Kyoko Tomita (former Princess Princess)
Hideyuki Sumino (TUBE)
Reiji Matsumoto (TUBE)
Teruhisa Kitahara
Ryuichi Kawakami (Big Japan Pro Wrestling) and others
In addition, the following people appear in the interview audio by Kanda Yota:
Nobuteru Maeda (TUBE)
Ryu Siwon
Anri
*Titles omitted, in no particular order
In addition, as a program that brings together various artists from various fields, we have delivered everything from trivial talk to deep discussions related to expression.
This time, we thought we could start a series that would reflect the unique characteristics of who we are, so we decided to start this project.
Titled
"Double Planet" is a serialized novel linked to the radio program "Love & Music."
Yes, novel style.
The main characters of this story are Aono Satoru, a first-year high school student who aspires to be a musician, and Tamaru Luka, a first-year high school student who aspires to be an actor, both of whom live in Kanagawa Prefecture.
The two are unaware of each other's existence, attend different high schools, and struggle with how to express themselves.
One Saturday evening, the two of them listen to the radio broadcast of "Love & Music," and a new development begins between them.
A new series that mixes fiction with reality.
We plan to complement the program's activities with a newly launched Facebook page .
A mixed project of radio and serialized columns set in Kanagawa.
Stay tuned!
