While there have been a succession of sequels to major series movies such as "Madmax" and "007" in recent times, the "Star Wars" series is showing unprecedented excitement with the release of the latest film in 10 years, "The Force Awakens," soon to be released tomorrow. Directed by JJ Abrams of "Lost" and "Mission: Impossible III," this film marks the beginning of a new story with a new heroine and new companions. In addition to the appearance of new characters who play the central role in the story, Han Solo (Harrison Ford), Luke (Mark Hamill), and Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher) appear for the first time in 32 years since "Episode 6: Return of the Jedi," even longtime fans are excited.
Meanwhile, an exhibition that brings together the Star Wars series to date, titled Star Wars: A Vision of Creation Continuing into the Future, is currently being held at the Sogo Museum of Art on the 6th floor of the Sogo Yokohama store. This exhibition, which is said to be filled with the thoughts of George Lucas, the creator of the series, allows visitors to see up close the costumes, props, and artwork actually used in the film production, as well as materials that unravel the origins of Star Wars and concept art by artists selected by Lucas from around the world. This exhibition truly makes you look forward to the new future of Star Wars.
In addition, the venue, Sogo Yokohama, will be offering a variety of Star Wars-themed treats, so be sure to take advantage of this opportunity to fully enjoy the world of Star Wars.
