Interview with Ryujin Nishikawa (Marketing Consultant/Magcal Table Chair)
 

Mr. Nishikawa is involved in various projects in Kanagawa Prefecture.

As part of this, we aim to make Kanagawa Prefecture's culture itself a magnet that attracts people and brings charm and liveliness to the city.

We are also participating in the "Magnet Culture" project.

In the interview, he talked about the regularly held Magcal Table.

What is “Magcal Table”?

Kanagawa Prefecture and Yokohama City collaborate to form a planning committee made up of experts.

The table masters are Kanagawa Prefecture Governor Yuji Kuroiwa and Yokohama City Mayor Fumiko Hayashi. Committee members include director LaSalle Ishii,

Artist Takako Shirai and Hajime Hirasawa, representative of the Face Group, which developed mobile phone ringtones,

Mr. Keiji Sugimoto of Backstage Project, which develops the live house ZePP,

Kanagawa Kenmin Hall, KAAT Kanagawa Arts Theater director Jun Mano, playwright Kensuke Yokouchi, and others.

A place to exchange professional opinions in order to create a lively atmosphere through the culture and art of Kanagawa Prefecture.

Ryujin Nishikawa | Reugene NISHIKAWA

Marketing consultant.

Chairman of Kanagawa Prefecture Magcal Table.

Director of Commercial Development Research Institute Raison. Born in Hyogo Prefecture in 1960.

Graduated from Hitotsubashi University Faculty of Economics (1984) and Faculty of Law (1986).

Started a planning and production agency while still in school.

As an expert in marketing strategy, he has long demonstrated his skills in revitalizing industries and regions.

In the 1980s, he promoted sales of Walkman, and in the 90s, he promoted Juliana Tokyo and opened the Fukuoka Dome.

Participated in the commercial development of Kyoto Station Building and Osaka's "Crysta Nagahori."

Since 1998, as the chairperson of the Kagoshima Prefecture Honkaku Shochu Marketing Study Group, he has been working to promote the promotion and sales of potato shochu in metropolitan areas.

Contributed to the popularity of shochu nationwide. Awarded the title of Ambassador of Satsuma by the Governor of Kagoshima Prefecture.

In recent years, he has been involved in the selection and promotion of the design and naming of "Morizo and Kikkoro" for the Aichi Expo, "Sentokun" for the 1300th Anniversary of the Transfer of the Capital to Heijo, and for "Roppongi Hills."

In addition to being involved in concept planning and commercial development for "Omotesando Hills," "Mitsui Main Building," "Coredo Nihonbashi," and "Shanghai World Financial Center," he also worked on the NHK taiga drama "Ryomaden."

General producer of Ryoma Expo in Kochi Prefecture, PR supervisor for Tsukuba Express, which has the highest rate of increase in land prices in Japan, and Narita Sky Access.

In addition, he is the brand producer of the Setouchi Brand Promotion Alliance, which is made up of the seven prefectures facing the Seto Inland Sea: Hyogo, Okayama, Hiroshima, Yamaguchi, Tokushima, Kagawa, and Ehime.

He has been commissioned as the chairperson of Kanagawa Prefecture's ``Magkal (Magnet Culture) Table,'' Hyogo Prefecture Counselor, and Nagasaki Prefecture Tourism PR Advisor.

He has served as a part-time lecturer at Tokyo Institute of Technology, Waseda University, Tsuda University, Tohoku Design University, Konan University, and Matsuyama University, and as a visiting professor at Takushoku University.

He is known for coining buzzwords such as Assy, Messy, and Jimoti.

In addition to being an anchor on CNN, he also works on television, newspapers, and magazines.
