With so much gratitude in these small yellow flowers

黄色い小さな花に、たくさんのありがとうを込めて

I went to the Mimosa Festa 2025, which is being held from February 5th to March 16th, 2025 at La Cittdella, a 5-minute walk from the east exit of Kawasaki Station.
La Cittadella is a commercial complex designed with the motif of an Italian hill town, and its cobblestone streets and row of shops make you feel as if you have traveled to Europe.

Beautiful yellow mimosa flowers herald the arrival of spring

March 8th, International Women's Day, is known as Mimosa Day in Italy. Mimosa flowers, which brightly color the streets of Italy from late February through March, are said to be given to loved ones to express love and gratitude. Hoping to spread this wonderful Italian culture, La Cittadella holds a mimosa event every year. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the event, and it has been gaining more and more attention with each passing year. A soft yellow color spread throughout the building, and restaurants participating in a joint shop event offered mimosa fair menus. Mimosa wreaths displayed at the entrances of these stores add a touch of elegance to the rows of stores.

Unique photo spots everywhere

This year, blue items have been scattered throughout the photo spot as accents, and the cute accessories are highly recommended. The central fountain plaza also has a unique, playful spot with a photo stage for dogs and a place where you can take photos through a mirror. If you go up to the balcony on the second floor of Maggiore, you'll find a space vividly decorated with antique-style items and lots of flowers. If you go down the olive staircase from there, you'll find mimosa flowers flowing from a faucet on a pole, and there is painting at your feet, so no matter where you frame it, it's sure to be a photogenic spot. Even though it's still cold out at this time of year, you can take lots of photos in this lovely space decorated in spring colors.

The area around Kawasaki Station is covered in mimosa flowers for a month

The Kawasaki Brave Thunders, a professional basketball team based in Kawasaki City, also collaborated with the Mimosa Festa. The club mascot, "Rowl," holding a cute bouquet, was decorated all over the wall, and fans passing by stopped to take commemorative photos. This cute collaboration appearance of "Rowl," which you don't usually get to see, is a must-see.
There will also be collaborative projects with surrounding facilities, and the area around Kawasaki Station will be dyed mimosa yellow for a month during the event.

A trip to an open-air market in Italy

There are plenty of events on weekends during the festival, including the Mimosa Marche, Mimosa Live, and Mimosa Cherry Blossom Viewing. One of the most noteworthy events is the ever-popular Marche. You can purchase mimosa-themed goods, baked goods, seasonings, and of course fresh flowers. It's exciting to think of a Marche reminiscent of an open-air market in Italy, searching for a gift while thinking of someone you want to express your gratitude to. Perhaps this is because of the exotic atmosphere of La Cittadella. Popular workshops are also available, so why not try making a handmade gift for someone special?
The mimosa flower has positive and warm meanings such as "elegance, gratitude, and friendship." I realized that going out with a loved one during this season, which is completely covered in yellow, is a wonderful way to express gratitude. Why not create some heartwarming memories while feeling the arrival of spring?
